Urgent sea freight to Saudi Arabia
For time-critical full containers, speed comes from three decisions made before the vessel sails: choosing the Saudi port closest to the delivery point, having the documents and any SABER certificates ready before sailing, and having the customs declaration filed before the vessel arrives so release can follow arrival.
When Gulf or Red Sea routings are disrupted, urgent containers can be routed through ports in Oman and trucked overland into Saudi Arabia — used in particular for urgent containers serving Jubail and Yanbu. Route and timing are confirmed per shipment.

For direct sailings from ports like Nansha, Shekou, Tianjin, and Qingdao, typically 18-25 days. Transshipment routes (from ports like Shanghai and Ningbo) take longer. Actual transit depends on carrier and season — we confirm the current sailing schedule before booking.
QWhat are current sea freight rates from China to Saudi Arabia?

QWhat do you ship by sea?
Full container loads – 20ft, 40ft and 40ft high-cube – for commercial cargo, from booking through to final delivery in Saudi Arabia.

QWhat container sizes are available?
A 20ft dry container holds about 33 CBM and roughly 21 tonnes; a 40ft high cube holds about 76 CBM and roughly 26 tonnes.
QWhen is the customs declaration filed for a sea shipment?
We lodge the declaration through FASAH at least 48 hours before the vessel berths, so the container is ready for release when it arrives.
QHow much free time is there before demurrage?
Typically 7 to 14 days depending on the carrier, then daily demurrage applies. That is why we prepare documents and SABER before arrival.
QWhat if my shipment is smaller than a container?
By sea we book full containers; smaller batches move by commercial air freight, and we advise which option suits your volume.
QDo you ship from countries other than China?
Yes: India (Nhava Sheva, Mundra, Chennai), Germany (Hamburg, Bremerhaven), the UK (Felixstowe, Southampton), the USA (Houston, Savannah, New York/Newark), plus Turkey, Egypt and others.

Yes. Since 29 October 2025, ZATCA requires the manifest and the customs declaration for sea imports to be submitted before the vessel arrives. For an urgent container we prepare the declaration data early so we can file it as soon as the manifest is registered.

QWhen should SABER certificates be arranged for an urgent sea shipment?
Before loading. The product certificate (PCoC) is registered per product model through a SASO-approved conformity body. The shipment certificate (SCoC) is then requested on SABER for each shipment against the invoice data; SABER issues it in 1 to 2 working days and it is valid for 90 days.
QWho can be the importer on the customs declaration?
The importer named on a Saudi customs declaration must hold a commercial registration number, a 700 code, a Saudi ID or a GCC ID and be licensed to import. The importer can be a different party from the buyer or owner of the goods, so confirm who will be named before the container sails.
